#Meet The Maker ....... Prompt 14 : CURRENT PROJECT
I almost always have a number of projects on the go at once.
It helps to keep me engaged. I tend to be somewhat of a mood artist - I know that’s probably not the best way of working particularly when you are trying to run a business and have a client base. So I’ve found that having some personal projects happening on the side helps.
There are times when I feel like working in nothing but pastel. When I initially started this particular project I had planned on using a combination of panpastel, pastel, pastel pencil and colour pencil. Now I’m thinking I’ll keep it to pastel products and forget the coloured pencil all together.
Other times I want to combine mediums and use pastel and pencil. There’s still a fair bit left to do on Luna Lu, but I like how it looks at this stage.
This particular WIP is on scratchboard and although I’ve experimented with using coloured ink on scratchboard before on a small scale, this is the largest I have attempted. I think it’s around 10x15 inches. This is purely a personal “me” project. It’s my chance to learn, experiment, play and relax. I’ve had this one on the go for a while - those of you who have worked with scratchboard know how slow it can be. I’ve also found that with the inking process, there’s a LOT more scratching layers and as I’m learning, my technique is not the most efficient yet. But it’s fun nonetheless 😃.
I’d love to hear about what you’re working on at the moment
