Get to Know My Equipment
All work I create uses nothing but the best quality archival art equipment and paper
I predominantly use coloured pencil with smatterings of pastel, splashes of paint and daubs of ink.
Pencils
I use a variety of lightfast wax based and oil based coloured pencils from Faber Castell, Derwent, Lyra, Bruynzeel, Caran D’Ache, Prismacolor and a few others.
Watercolour
Occasionally my work has elements of watercolour, this may be from liquid watercolour, watercolour paints and pans or as watercolour crayons and pencils used either wet or dry.
Other
Brush and Pencil brand
archival products are also used.
A light protective fixative is sprayed onto work.
Pastels
I incorporate pastels in my work with panpastel, pastel sticks and pencils from Rembrandt, Conte, Faber Castell, Winsor and Newton, Schwann Stabilo, Derwent and Richeson.
Acrylics
Archival inks, gouache and acrylics are used either for painting with or when using scratchboard.
Paper
My surfaces vary with subject and medium. I use Pastelmat, Sanded paper from Canson, and, Colourfix, Essdee and Ampersand scratchboard and Fabriano watercolour paper.
